"Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stressed that stability and development in Afghanistan are a strategic priority for the wider region, speaking at a meeting of Kabul's neighbours in Tehran on Sunday. "Afghanistan's geoeconomic position places the country at the heart of Central, Western, and South Asia's connectivity networks. Therefore, stability and development in Afghanistan are not only a humanitarian necessity but also a strategic imperative for the entire region," Araghchi stated. "No transregional solution can resolve regional problems and crises, and imported solutions or supra-regional decision-making without regional consensus will not lead to stability in any country," he emphasised. The foreign minister expressed Iran's readiness to deepen cooperation with neighbouring states in transportation, trade, consular affairs and energy, saying such efforts could build a sustainable framework for regional integration that benefits Afghanistan and the wider region. "Our region is on the verge of significant economic transformations, from the expansion of corridors to the formation of new energy and trade axes," he added. Araghchi framed the meeting as a starting point for a new phase of regional cooperation, which would enable Afghanistan to achieve stability and sustainable development to the benefit of all its neighbours. Delegates from Russia, China, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan attended the Tehran talks, which focused on dialogue and developments in Afghanistan. The Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed that Afghan representatives did not participate, despite being invited."
