MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines has been recognized as Asia’s Best Retirement Destination at the 11th TripZilla Excellence Awards, affirming its growing appeal as a global retirement hub. “This award affirms what the global community increasingly sees: the Philippines is not only a beautiful place to visit, but a place to call home,” Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco said. The Department of Tourism working closely with the Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA), continues to strengthen retirement tourism through improved programs, healthcare access, and incentives such as the Special Resident Retiree’s Visa (SRRV). The PRA said that more than 83,000 SRRV holders now call the Philippines home, supported by its new “WE CARE” campaign aimed at expanding the country’s share of the global retirement market.
