"Thousands of Gazans gathered on Sunday to bury several Hamas members, including senior commander Raed Saad, who was killed by an Israeli airstrike the previous day. Footage shows mourners grieving over the bodies before performing funeral prayers and carrying them through the streets in a procession. “This precious blood will not be in vain,” vowed Dr. Saeed Abed, declaring the Palestinian people would “never forget this aggression.” Another mourner, Mohammed Thuriya, accused Israel of repeatedly violating the ceasefire. "It is evident that the Zionist occupation has been sabotaging the ceasefire agreement from the very start. We also believe it will sabotage the agreement in the second phase and beyond and will obstruct reconstruction," he explained. The Israeli military announced the elimination of Raed Saad in an airstrike on Saturday, identifying him as ‘one of the architects’ of the October 7 attacks. "Raed Saad was a leading Hamas figure in recent months and was directly responsible for ceasefire violations by Hamas. In his role as head of the weapons production, he led the continued production of weapons in the Gaza Strip during the ceasefire," the IDF statement added. Meanwhile, Hamas mourned Saad's death and eulogised him as a lifelong fighter who had "devoted his life to his religion and homeland, fought in the path of God, and lived in pursuit of the occupation for decades." Israel and Hamas signed a peace agreement that came into effect on October 10 under the 20-point 'Trump Plan', which includes an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, both living and deceased, and expanded humanitarian access."
