Supporting Gaza's health infrastructure - UAE inaugurates medical centre in Khan Younis under 'Chivalrous Knight 3' ops

"The United Arab Emirates inaugurated the Emirates Medical Center in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis on Sunday. Footage shows families at the facility, where healthcare professionals have already begun treating patients. The medical centre, established under the UAE's 'Chivalrous Knight 3' humanitarian operation, aims to support Gaza's collapsing health system by providing urgent medical assistance and essential primary care services. "We thank the United Arab Emirates for all its contributions in supporting the health system," said Hiba Al-Najjar, the Global Health Coordinator in the Gaza Strip. "[The UAE] has not hesitated to provide support since the beginning of the war - starting with urgent relief, up to the establishment and operation of the field hospital in Rafah, and this support continues to this day," she emphasised. According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the new medical centre is equipped with specialised departments and offers a wide range of services, including emergency care and primary healthcare. The center builds upon the work of the Emirati field hospital, aiming to strengthen healthcare quality and ease the burden on Gaza's overwhelmed medical facilities. The UAE launched Operation 'Chivalrous Knight 3' on November 5, 2023, under the directives of President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The operation aims to provide relief to Palestinians in Gaza following the outbreak of war between Israel and Hamas."
