"Drone footage filmed on Sunday appears to show the final moments of the mass shooting at Sydney’s Bondi Beach, as police moved to neutralise the attacker. The video shows a gunman opening fire from a footbridge before falling to the ground after being shot by police. Authorities have declared the incident a terrorist attack, saying two gunmen opened fire on crowds celebrating the start of Hanukkah along the beachfront. The attack left 16 people dead, including one of the attackers, and more than 40 others wounded, according to officials. Among those killed were Rabbi Eli Schlanger and a Holocaust survivor, community leaders said. Police later identified the attackers as father and son, Sajid Akram, 50, and Naveed Akram, 24. Sajid Akram was shot dead by police at the scene, while his son was arrested and remains in custody. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese condemned the shooting as an “act of pure evil, an act of antisemitism, an act of terrorism.” A major counter-terrorism investigation is now underway, with police examining the attackers’ movements, possible accomplices and any extremist links."
