Water rates to go up in January

WATER rates will increase in January 2026 as the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System Regulatory Office will implement the fourth tranche of staggered water rate hikes which it approved in 2022. For Maynilad residential customers that qualify under the lifeline rate, households consuming 10 cubic meters or less will pay an additional P1.02 per month, while those consuming 20 cubic meters will pay an additional P2.55 per month. Manila Water residential customers under the lifeline rate using 10 cubic meters or less will pay an additional P4.24 per month, while those consuming 20 cubic meters will pay P12.90 more per month. As for regular rates, Maynilad customers using 10 cubic meters or less will pay an additional P5.06 per month, while those consuming 20 cubic meters and 30 meters will be charged an additional P5.06 and P19.06 per month, respectively. Meanwhile for Manila Water customers, residents consuming 10 cubic meters or less will pay an additional P29.86 per month, while those using 20 cubic meters and 30 cubic meters will pay an extra P66.25 per month and P135.22 per month, respectively.
