Putin signs into law Russia-India military deployment agreement

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday signed into law an intergovernmental agreement between Russia and India on bilateral deployment of military formations, warships and aircraft on each other's territory, reported Xinhua. The Reciprocal Exchange of Logistic Support (RELOS) agreement concerns not only the deployment of military personnel and equipment but also logistical support. The RELOS agreement applies to the conduct of joint military exercises and training, the provision of humanitarian assistance, the mitigation of consequences of natural disasters and man-made catastrophes, and other mutually agreed-upon scenarios. Its ratification streamlines the mutual use of airspace and port calls by warships between the two countries.
