LAHORE: On the special directives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, an awareness session was organized under the auspices of the Skills Development and Entrepreneurship Department (SDED) in collaboration with the Punjab Skills Development Fund (PSDF), for the nurses of Services Hospital Lahore. During the session, nurses of Services Hospital were informed about employment opportunities in Saudi Arabia, along with the complete procedure for application and deployment. A detailed briefing was given on available nursing jobs, recruitment requirements, interviews, screening, and appointment processes. Addressing the awareness session, Secretary Skills Development and Entrepreneurship Department, Nadir Chattha, stated that there is a demand for more than 2,000 international job opportunities for nurses. He emphasized that the government is working to ensure safe, transparent, and secure overseas employment for nurses. He further explained that all legal and professional requirements are being fulfilled through licensed overseas employment promoters. Facilities are also being provided for medical examinations, data flow verification, and protectorate registration. Additionally, the Punjab Skills Development Fund will extend full support for the Prometric test and other mandatory procedures, he added. Chairman CM Task Force on Skill Development, Adnan Chattha, stated that providing overseas employment opportunities for skilled individuals is among the top priorities of the Chief Minister of Punjab. He highlighted that hassle-free relocation, along with financial and logistical support, is being ensured for international employment. He added that this initiative will lead to an increase in remittances, contributing to higher household incomes and strengthening the country’s foreign exchange reserves. Principal SIMS Prof Dr Zohra Khanum and Director General Nursing Punjab Tahira Parveen, Azka Munir and Babar Qureshi also spoke on the occasion and acknowledged government efforts regarding international employment opportunities through the Skills Development & Entrepreneurship Department.
