Mindoro town marks 81st Liberation Day from Japanese occupation

CITY OF CALAPAN — The local government of San Jose led the commemoration of the 81st anniversary of the Liberation Day of Mindoro Island from Japanese occupation on Monday through a livestreamed program held in the evening. The Philippine Army’s 68th Infantry Battalion and 1702nd Community Defense Center led the wreath-laying ceremony at the Second Landing Marker at Aroma Beach in Barangay San Roque, the site of General Douglas MacArthur’s second landing.
