Khidmat Markaz, Model Jail: CDA chief orders high-quality work, timely completion

ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner, Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, on Monday visited major ongoing development projects in the federal capital, including the Islamabad Model Jail in Sector H-16 and the Asaan Khidmat Markaz building and directed the authorities to ensure high-quality work and timely completion. During his visit to the Islamabad Model Jail project, the CDA Chairman was briefed by Member Engineering Syed Nifasat Raza, DG Works, and other concerned officers on the progress of construction activities. Chairman Randhawa emphasized that all development works must meet the highest quality standards and be completed within the stipulated timelines. He directed that construction of the administrative block and kitchen be completed within the current month, along with the barracks and hospital facilities. The Chairman also instructed the initiation of landscaping and environment-friendly plantation around the jail premises and called for the early completion of the remaining boundary walls. Chairman Randhawa further directed the authorities to expedite the installation of all entry gates, complete road infrastructure works at the earliest, and ensure immediate water supply through the installation of tube wells. He also ordered the prompt completion of drainage and sewerage systems and stressed close coordination with IESCO to ensure timely electricity supply to the facility. He instructed the Project Director and Resident Engineers to maintain effective on-site supervision to ensure quality and swift execution of all construction activities. Earlier, the CDA Chairman, accompanied by Member Engineering and relevant officials, visited the Asaan Khidmat Markaz building project and reviewed the progress of construction, renovation, and finishing works. During the briefing, he was informed that more than 95 percent of the construction work has been completed and that finishing works are currently underway. Officials informed the Chairman that cleaning of the under-construction floors is in progress, while furniture installation and other essential works are being completed on a priority basis. It was further shared that construction activities at the Asaan Khidmat Markaz are being carried out on a 24/7 basis to ensure early completion, after which the facility will be opened for public use. The Chairman was also briefed that modern technology is being integrated into the Asaan Khidmat Markaz to facilitate efficient delivery of public services. Chairman Randhawa said that upon completion, the center will provide more than 100 services from multiple departments under one roof, including CDA’s One-Window Facilitation Center.
