NBI temporarily releases Sarah Discaya to attend court hearing in Malabon

MANILA, Philippines — Government contractor Cezarah “Sarah” Discaya has been temporarily released from the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to attend a hearing before the Office of the City Prosecutor (OCP) of Malabon over a case filed against her by the city government, the Department of Justice (DOJ) said. DOJ Spokesman Polo Martinez confirmed that Discaya requested the NBI to allow her to appear at the hearing, which is part of the preliminary investigation into the city government's complaint. NBI Acting Director Angelito Magno said Discaya remained under NBI custody but clarified that she may be released at any time, as no arrest warrant has yet been issued against her. “Her continued detention is temporary and subject to existing legal procedures,” Magno said.
