"Venezuela's Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello questioned the legitimacy of Chile's election, won by Jose Antonio Kast, warning it could affect thousands of Venezuelans living in the country. Cabello's comments were linked to Kast's campaign stance against undocumented Venezuelan migrants, an issue the president-elect made central to his political agenda. "Here we will receive them with open arms, just as we have welcomed more than 1.1 million Venezuelans who have returned in recent days," he said, pledging support should Chile take measures against its Venezuelan residents. Cabello also claimed that the United States and Trinidad and Tobago are 'stealing oil' and conducting covert operations in the Caribbean targeting Venezuelan citizens. "He has full knowledge of the participation of the government of Trinidad and Tobago in the theft of Venezuelan oil, carried out by the United States administration," Cabello said. Cabello's remarks came after the December 10 incident, when the US seized the vessel off Venezuela's coast, carrying about 1.9 million barrels of crude oil, citing sanctions and alleged links to illicit oil networks. Venezuela's Interior Minister also accused Trinidad and Tobago's Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar of turning her country into a 'US aircraft carrier' and collaborating in hostile actions against Venezuela, warning that Caracas would respond to any aggression. "This official has turned the territory of Trinidad and Tobago into a United States aircraft carrier to attack Venezuela in an unequivocal act of vassalage," Cabello added. He described the prime minister as "sick", stating that her actions in favour of the US also represent a threat to her own population. "Those actions put good relations at risk, but they also put her own people in danger. This woman is sick, sick," Cabello said. The minister concluded by reaffirming Venezuela's commitment to defending its oil and natural gas, calling Trinidad and Tobago's actions dangerous for regional stability and the security of its citizens."
