Reform Candidate Unrepentant Over His Call For David Lammy To 'Go Home To The Caribbean'

Dr Chris Parry on Talk TV A Reform UK candidate has refused to row back on his call for David Lammy to “go home to the Caribbean”. Dr Chris Parry was unrepentant during an interview on Talk TV in which he also refused to say whether he believed the justice secretary’s “primary loyalty” is to the UK. Reform leader Nigel Farage has faced calls to drop Parry as his party’s candidate to be mayor of Hampshire and the Solent. His comments were unearthed by the Daily Telegraph , which also found that Parry had described female cabinet ministers as “harpies” and suggested parliament would be filled with Muslim MPs by 2035. Parry, who served in the Royal Navy for 30 years, reacted on X to a report that former foreign secretary Lammy was “open” to paying slavery reparations to former British colonies. He wrote: “Lammy must go home to the Caribbean where loyalties lie.” Appearing on Talk TV on Monday, said: “You really shouldn’t believe everything you read in the newspapers.” Asked by presenter Peter Cardwell if he’d written the post, he said: “I’m not going to talk about it. People should go to Twitter and see what was written and the context in which it happened. “All I’m saying is if you’re the foreign secretary of this country your primary loyalty must be to this country.” When Cardwell asked if he thought Lammy’s primary loyalty to the UK, Parry replied: “Ask him.” "Do you believe his primary loyalty is to this country?
