MANILA, Philippines — The local government of Makati City reminded motorists and commuters on Tuesday to expect heavy traffic as it prepared to host the Metro Manila Film Festival Parade of Stars on Friday, with rerouting schemes set along major roads. Mayor Nancy Binay said the city’s role as host of the 51st MMFF came with necessary road management measures to ensure public safety during the event. She said motorists and commuters should anticipate delays as the parade passes through Makati’s central business district. “I have directed our Public Safety Department to help manage traffic and maintain safety and order,” Binay said. Movie-themed floats from the eight official MMFF entries will assemble along Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City at 1 p.m. before proceeding toward Makati and ending at Circuit Makati. The parade route will include Buendia Avenue, Ayala Avenue, Makati Avenue, JP Rizal Street, and A. Reyes Avenue. Binay said the Makati city government was closely coordinating with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the MMFF’s main organizer, to manage traffic flow and crowd control.
