Sri Lankan shares closed higher on Tuesday, driven by gains in real estate and energy stocks. The CSE All-Share index rose nearly 0.2% to 22,333.25. On Monday, the index snapped a six-day winning run. Mercantile Shipping Company Plc and Millennium Housing Developers Plc were the biggest gainers on the CSE All-Share index, rising 23.4% and 4.6%, respectively. Trading volume dropped to 77.2 million shares from 81.3 million in the previous session. The equity market’s turnover rose to 2.86 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($9.25 million), compared with 2.23 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data. Foreign investors were net sellers of stocks worth 61.7 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers of shares worth 2.84 billion rupees, data showed.
