Riyadh Rainfall Was Mostly Light, NCM Says, Dismissing Flood Claims

The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) said the rainfall that affected Riyadh on Monday was largely light and steady, with intermittent moderate to heavy showers in some neighborhoods and hail reported during the evening. The NCM’s official spokesperson, Hussein Al-Qahtani, said the highest rainfall recorded in the capital reached 12 millimeters, while the highest amount across the Riyadh region was 24 millimeters at King Khalid Royal Reserve, according to the center’s monitoring stations. Al-Qahtani stressed that some videos circulating on social media showing alleged flooding in certain locations were inaccurate and did not reflect the actual weather conditions, underscoring the importance of relying on official and trusted sources for weather information.
