Qatar Suspends Maritime Navigation In Doha Waters For National Day

The Ministry of Transport has announced a temporary suspension of maritime navigation and vessel leasing in parts of Doha as part of national safety measures linked to Qatar National Day celebrations. In a statement issued on Monday, the ministry called on all maritime vessel owners, whether individuals or companies, to halt navigation and leasing activities for pleasure crafts, tourism boats, fishing vessels, jet skis and similar watercraft in the Doha area. The suspension applies specifically to the coastal stretch between Hamad International Airport and the Sheraton Doha Hotel, a central area expected to host National Day activities. Qatar imposes temporary maritime suspension According to the Ministry of Transport, the directive will come into force at 6:00 am on Tuesday, December 16 and remain in effect until 8:00 am on Friday, December 19, 2025.
