Anna Liza Logan named chief presidential legal counsel

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Anna Liza Logan as his new chief presidential legal counsel, Malacañang said Tuesday. In a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro announced the appointment Logan, replacing former Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile, who passed away on Nov. 13 at the age of 101. Prior to her appointment, Logan was the Executive Secretary for Legal Affairs of the Office of the President. She has extensive experience in civil and criminal litigation, family, labor and human settlements adjudication commission cases, corporate and commercial practice for financial technology companies, real estate development entities and non-governmental organizations. Logan worked with various law firms, including Logan Masukat Ronulo Huang, Marcos Ochoa Serapio and Tan, and Agabin Verzola Hermoso Layaoen & De Castro. Aside from Logan, several officials were also appointed by the President in the Office of the Executive Secretary. Castro said lawyers Maria Luwalhati Dorotan Tiuseco and Danielle Marie Rieza-Culangen were appointed as Senior Deputy Executive Secretary and Deputy Executive Secretary for General Administration, respectively. The President also designated Joseph Irvin Obenza as Deputy Executive Secretary for Financial Affairs. Lawyers Jesse Hermogenes Andres, Erwin Sta. Ana, and Alemar Mosquito will also join the Office of the Executive Secretary, respectively serving as Deputy Executive Secretary, Undersecretary for Economic Affairs and Assistant Secretary.
