"Israeli heavy machinery demolished a two-storey house, home of Samer Hamadia in the village of Qalandiya, northwest of Jerusalem. "Today, at 9 AM, without any advance notice, officers from the Israeli Civil Administration came and told us they had an order to demolish our house. We explained that we had submitted the proper building permits to the relevant authorities, but they responded that [Finance Minister] Smotrich's decisions were being enforced, and the demolition would be carried out immediately," the houseowner's brother stated. "We pleaded for just a 24-hour grace period, but they categorically refused, forcing us to evacuate the house and leave," he added. Footage filmed on Tuesday shows an excavator demolishing the house with Israeli soldiers securing the perimeter. Residents can be seen inspecting the damage. The demolition was carried out as the building lacked a permit for 'Area C' according to media reports. It was also reported that Israeli forces had 'fired tear gas around the house without causing casualties'. According to the Palestinian Colonisation and Wall Resistance Commission as saying that Israeli authorities "carried out 46 demolition operations during last November, affecting 76 facilities, including 20 inhabited houses, 30 agricultural facilities, and 23 sources of livelihood. The Israeli army did not comment on the demolition operations at the time of publication. Tensions in the West Bank remain high following the events of October 7, with more than 759 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces or settlers, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. Official Israeli figures report more than 26 Israelis killed in Palestinian attacks in the West Bank during the same period."
