George Clooney says he won’t be smooching any more women on screen after having a discussion with his wife, Amal , about his age. Speaking with The Daily Mail , the two-time Oscar winner and dapper leading man revealed that he’s decided to no longer kiss any female co-stars. “I’ve been trying to go the route Paul Newman did: ‘OK, well, I’m not kissing a girl anymore,’” he explained. “When I turned 60, I had a conversation with my wife. I said, ‘Look, I can still play basketball with the boys. I play with 25-year-old guys... I can still hang, I’m in shape’. “But in 25 years, I’m 85 years old. It doesn’t matter how many granola bars you eat, that’s a real number.” Clooney, who kicked off his acting career in the 80s, has gone down in history as one of Hollywood’s most famous romantic leads. He’s starred in multiple movies opposite top female actors, including Michelle Pfeiffer in One Fine Day, Julia Roberts in Ticket To Paradise and Jennifer Lopez in Out Of Sight. Speaking with The New York Times in 2022 alongside his Ticket To Paradise co-star, Clooney admitted that a director once slammed a kissing scene he had with a female co-star. He did not reveal who the director or co-star was. “I remember early on in my career, I had to do a kissing scene with this girl, and the director goes, ‘Not like that.’ And I was like, ‘Dude, that’s my move! That’s what I do in real life!’” he shared. Later in the interview, he confessed that he and Julia Roberts had to do several takes to get their one kissing scene on point for their 2022 rom-com. “Yeah. I told my wife, ‘It took 80 takes,’” he said. “She was like, ‘What the hell?’.” “It took 79 takes of us laughing and then the one take of us kissing,” the Pretty Woman star responded, to which Clooney added: “Well, we had to get it right.” Clooney, who has been named People’s “Sexiest Man Alive” twice, shared similar sentiments about his fading heartthrob persona while speaking to 60 Minutes in March. “Look, I’m 63 years old. I’m not trying to compete with 25-year-old leading men,” he told the outlet. “That’s not my job. I’m not doing romantic films anymore.” READ MORE: George Clooney Laments 'Mistake' Of Kamala Harris Replacing Joe Biden In 2024 US Election George Clooney On The Decision To Raise His Kids Outside Of Hollywood George Clooney Spills On The 1 Thing People Have Wrong About This Famous Friend
