MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is giving commuters real-time access to traffic conditions through live CCTV feeds displayed in select SM malls, starting this Wednesday. At SM Megamall, screens show southbound traffic on Edsa–Shaw Boulevard and Edsa–Ayala, and northbound traffic on Edsa–Guadix and Edsa–Santolan. MMDA Chairman Don Artes said the program would expand to SM Mall of Asia and SM North Edsa, with advisories covering traffic across Metro Manila. “The goal is to provide commuters timely information to plan safer and faster routes while easing congestion on major roads,” Artes said. Officials said the initiative extended MMDA’s traffic monitoring reach and complements its efforts to manage flow along key corridors, giving the public a reliable alternative to social media updates.
