ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has intensified its drive against illegal constructions and encroachments across the federal capital on the directions of Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. According to a CDA spokesperson, the ongoing anti-encroachment operation is being supervised by Deputy Director General of Enforcement Dr Anam Fatima. As part of the drive, 712 kanals of valuable estate land adjacent to the Diplomatic Enclave have already been reclaimed from illegal occupants. In the next phase, actions have been initiated against encroachments in the Noorpur Shahan area. Various formations of the CDA are participating in the operation. Officials from the Planning Wing’s Land Survey section and the Geo-Spatial Wing have been deployed on-site to ensure effective execution. The operation is also being carried out with the full support of the Islamabad district administration and Islamabad Police. In this phase, notices have been issued in accordance with the law to ensure the removal of illegal constructions and the recovery of encroached estate land. To facilitate the residents and address legitimate concerns, a camp office has also been established in the area. Officers from the Planning Wing, Land Directorate, and Enforcement Directorate are present at the camp office to resolve issues related to built-up properties (BUP), land distribution, and other lawful matters at the local level.
