Global brewing giant Diageo is selling its 65% stake in East African Breweries (EABL) to Japan's Asahi Group for $2.3 billion.The deal, set to conclude in 2026, also includes Diageo's shareholding in the spirits business UDVK, ending its nearly 25-year control of EABL since 2000.
