"A moment at the European Council caused a viral sensation - as the camera appeared to cut on the official feed when Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro was asked about Donald Trump calling leaders 'weak'. Trump has blasted the bloc's leadership - and has also hit out at 'censorship' in the EU too - although there is no suggestion that the unfortunate moment was in any way an attempt to stop Montenegro speaking out about what he really thought! European leaders are arriving for the latest Council in Brussels, with crunch talks expected on the controversial plan to use frozen Russian assets for a 'reparations loan' for Ukraine. Belgium - where the assets are held - and others have warned of the impact on investor confidence, the need for 'risk-sharing' and questioned the legality. Italy, Belgium, Malta and Bulgaria called for alternatives to be explored. Others like Hungary and Slovakia have highlighted the need to end the Ukraine conflict - rather than fund more weapons- as well as ongoing corruption scandals in Ukraine. On Wednesday, Hungary's Viktor Orban claimed 'victory', saying the loan plan was 'off the table'. Russia has called the move 'illegal' and 'theft'."
