3 suspects in credit card fraud arrested at Caticlan Airport

MANILA, Philippines — Cebu Pacific (CEB) announced on Thursday the arrest of three people at Caticlan Airport for using fraudulent credit cards to book flights and reselling travel funds on social media. The suspects had traveled from Davao to Boracay and were apprehended while attempting to board their return flight to Davao. The incident followed a Dec. 16, 2025 advisory from the airline warning against transacting with unauthorized sellers who offered suspicious flight deals and travel funds often tied to credit card fraud. The airline said it was currently coordinating with the Philippine National Police for further investigation. CEB said to avoid invalid bookings or travel disruptions, passengers were encouraged to use official channels such as the airline's official website, CEB mobile app, and accredited travel agency partners. Customers who transact through unauthorized channels and agents may not be able to: receive a complete booking and ticket due to incorrect fares; do online check-in; rebook; refund; and add bags or meals.
