MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) announced that the Walang Gutom Kitchen would remain open throughout most of the holiday season to for walk-in families and individuals experiencing hunger. DSWD Secretary Rexlon “Rex” Gatchalian said the kitchen would operate until Dec. 24, 2025 and resume services from Dec. 26 to 31. The kitchen will be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. “Those looking for a meaningful way to help this Christmas are welcome to volunteer at the Walang Gutom Kitchen, because the best gift you can give is your time,” Gatchalian said. The DSWD added that the Walang Gutom Kitchen supported President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s goal of ending hunger and ensuring that no Filipino family is left without food during the holidays and beyond.
