MANILA, Philippines — In the Philippines, equal access to education remains out of reach for many. This is especially true for children with disabilities. Only about 8 out of every 100 children with disabilities are enrolled in public schools. Data cited by the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM II) shows there are around 5.1 million Filipino children with disabilities, but only about 391,000 are currently inside classrooms.
