ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a cordial telephone conversation with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, on the occasion of Qatar’s National Day. In the call, the prime minister extended warm congratulations to the Amir, the Qatari Royal Family, the government, and the people of Qatar, wishing them continued peace, progress, and prosperity. He praised Qatar’s achievements and growing global influence under the leadership of Sheikh Tamim. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening the longstanding and multifaceted bilateral ties between the two countries. He also acknowledged Qatar’s role in global peace efforts, particularly its involvement in peace talks regarding Gaza, and expressed gratitude for Qatar’s facilitation of dialogue aimed at easing tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The prime minister, who had visited Doha earlier this year, reiterated his invitation to Sheikh Tamim for an official visit to Pakistan at a mutually convenient time. In response, the Qatari Amir thanked Sharif for his warm greetings and expressed his dedication to further enhancing the historic and fraternal relationship between the two countries.
