Digital ecosystems: Pivotal role of public–private collaboration highlighted

ISLAMABAD: Secretary Information Technology at the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) Zarar Hasham Khan on Thursday highlighted the pivotal role of public–private collaboration in building secure, resilient and trusted digital ecosystems, as government and corporate leaders convened in Islamabad to discuss Pakistan’s digital infrastructure future. The discussion took place at an exclusive Corporate Leaders Dinner hosted by Sky47 Limited at Serena Hotel, Islamabad, which brought together senior executives from government, enterprise, telecom, finance and the technology sector for a high-level exchange on infrastructure readiness and digital transformation. Addressing the gathering, Sky47 Limited Chief Executive Officer Hassan Abbas outlined the company’s long-term vision to develop a carrier-neutral and AI-ready data centre ecosystem in Pakistan. He stressed the importance of enterprise-grade infrastructure that meets global standards for reliability, security, uptime and regulatory compliance, enabling organisations to host mission-critical workloads locally with confidence. Participants discussed key priorities including accelerating cloud adoption, enabling AI-driven innovation, and meeting the growing demand for trusted local infrastructure to support data localisation, cybersecurity and national data sovereignty objectives. The event concluded with networking and informal interactions, reinforcing cross-sector partnerships and setting the stage for collaborative efforts to support Pakistan’s evolving digital economy.
