Belgium’s state-owned rail company NMBS has ambitious plans. New late services between Antwerp, Brussels and Leuven are being introduced and the suburban train network will also be expanded. In the short term the NMBS intends to run 10 per cent more trains and serve 30 per cent more passengers, especially during off-peak hours. Report: Saskia De Schutter.
