"At least six people were killed and dozens injured on Friday evening in an alleged Israeli strike that hit a school and a vocational training centre sheltering displaced families in the At-Tuffah neighbourhood of eastern Gaza City, according to Palestinian media. Footage from the scene shows ambulances arriving as paramedics carried bodies from the site, while relatives mourned victims outside the facility. Fares Afaneh, Head of Ambulance and Emergency Services in the northern Gaza Strip, said emergency teams were initially unable to reach the area. “About two hours ago, a school sheltering displaced people in eastern Gaza was targeted. This attack resulted in a large number of injuries, around ten, in addition to several fatalities. About two hours later, the Israeli occupation allowed ambulance and emergency teams to enter,” Afaneh claimed. “We also found a girl aged around 16–17, and discovered a child still alive. Had we been delayed, the child would have been among the fatalities. His condition is critical, and he was transferred to Al-Ma'madani Hospital for treatment,” he added. At the time of publication, the Israeli military had not commented on the reported strike in At-Tuffah. The war in Gaza erupted after Hamas launched an unprecedented attack on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, killing 1,139 people, mostly civilians, and abducting more than 200, according to Israeli authorities. Since then, Israel has carried out a wide-ranging air and ground campaign in the enclave. Palestinian health authorities say 70,669 Palestinians have been killed and 171,165 injured as of publication. Hamas and Israel reached a ceasefire agreement that came into effect on October 10 under the 20-point 'Trump Plan', which includes an immediate halt to fighting, the release of all hostages, living and deceased, and the entry of humanitarian aid."
