Sunday rain showers expected due to 'amihan', easterlies

MANILA, Philippines — Rain showers are expected in many parts of the country on Sunday due to the continued effects of the northeast monsoon or “amihan”, and easterlies, according to the state weather bureau. In its 5 p.m. weather update on Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the “amihan” is forecast to bring cloudy skies with rains over Batanes.
