LAHORE: Member of the Men’s National Selection Committee and Director High-Performance Aqib Javed has said that modern facilities and infrastructure are necessary to sustainable high-performance cricket development. He highlighted improved cricket team performances, stating that success depends on the quality and depth of Pakistan’s player pool. He also praised PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi for his vision and leadership in driving structural reforms through a strong focus on infrastructure and long-term planning. In an interview, Aqib shared his insights on Pakistan cricket, high-performance structures and future planning. He expressed confidence in Pakistan’s progress, citing improved bench strength, varied pitch preparation and growing competition for places. Aqib also reflected on his journey from an international cricketer to selector, head coach and now Director High- Performance, emphasising the importance of clarity, process and long-term vision in professional sport.
