FAISALABAD: Speakers at a seminar at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad called for promoting merit and self-accountability in the society to root out the menace of corruption as a step towards bright future. They addressed participants of seminar titled “Empowering Students to Build a Corruption-Free Future” arranged by the University Senior Tutor Office’s Character Building Society. Talking to the participants, UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Zulfiqar Ali called for enhanced effort to promote the culture of self-accountability and create awareness among the people. He said that corruption is a major cause of social, economic, and administrative decline. He said that the cancer of corruption destroys societies. For which, we have to raise awareness at the public level. Additional Director NAB Attiya Azmat said that they were arranging seminars in various educational institutions, colleges and universities to raise awareness regarding anti-corruption so that the youth can be made the vanguard of establishing a corruption-free society. She said the training of individuals in our society should be ensured against corruption. Senior Tutor Dr Shoukat Ali said that the university was making all out efforts to create awareness about the menace. He said that the country was blessed with tremendous talent and we have to give them proper guidance and consultancy for a brighter future. In-charge Character Building Society Dr Muhammad Rafay Mazamil said that joint efforts should be made to eradicate corruption. Copyright Business Recorder, 2025
