"Hundreds of visitors flocked to Singapore’s iconic Orchard Road on Saturday, which has been transformed into a dazzling festive wonderland for its annual 'Christmas on A Great Street' celebrations. Footage shows locals and tourists crossing the busy street beneath glowing Christmas lights, as they walk through festive markets and stopping to admire decorations, toys and colourful ornaments. Visitors snapped pictures of the vibrant scenery, while performers entertained families along the route. “I think the lights are very pretty. It’s very bright, and I think it’s a great way to start Christmas by coming over here and looking at the lights and the decorations," said a visitor. "The Christmas tree is very beautiful, and if you go down there, the overall feeling is even better. As for taking photos, it is definitely a must-check-in spot. It is really good! This Christmas tree has a great design," added another. The 2.5km (1.6 mile) stretch features sparkling lights in gold, rose gold, and silvery white, showcasing motifs like the 'Merli' mascot and the Toa Payoh dragon playground. Running until January 1, 2026, this year’s event carries a special SG60 theme, marking Singapore’s 60th year of independence with local icons, extensive light displays, festive markets and nightly snowfall shows that light up the shopping belt."
