High-profile thefts were reported at the French Presidential Palace which included silver stewards, Sèvres porcelain, Baccarat champagne glasses, copper saucepans and a René Lalique statuette and other valuable items. The Paris prosecutor’s office said the value of stolen items was estimated between 15,000 and 40,000 euros ($17,500–$46,800). Three men will stand trial next year in connection with the heist.
