Saudi Arabia Apprehends 1,417 Unlicensed Passenger Transport Operators in One Week

The Transport General Authority’s inspection teams continued their field operations, apprehending 1,417 violators between Saturday, Dec. 13, and Friday, Dec. 19. Legal measures were taken against the violators, including vehicle impoundment and fines, for carrying out unlicensed passenger transport services across various regions of the Kingdom. The authority revealed that its inspection teams apprehended 799 individuals for soliciting passengers using private vehicles without a license, as well as 618 individuals for transporting passengers in private vehicles in an unauthorized manner. It affirmed that these campaigns form part of its ongoing efforts to enhance competitiveness in the transport sector and curb illegal practices that undermine service quality and passenger safety.
