"Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with the foreign ministers of Algeria and Zimbabwe, Ahmed Attaf and Amon Murwira in Cairo on Saturday, on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum. "Very nice to see you again. It's a good opportunity, in the margins of Russia, to sit down and to see what we are doing bilaterally, how we can further promote our cooperation, partnership, and of course, to discuss some regional and international matters," Lavrov said during talks with the Zimbabwean Foreign Minister. Meanwhile, the Algerian Foreign Minister said that the countries have strong partnership and friendly relations based on a rich history and solidarity forged during difficult times. Lavrov arrived in Cairo on Thursday to participate in the Second Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum on December 19-20. It will be attended by foreign ministers of all African states, as well as the heads of continental integration associations' executive bodies. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, participants will discuss topical issues on the international and bilateral agenda, the implementation of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum Action Plan for 2023-2026 approved at the summit in St Petersburg, as well as the development of trade, economic and investment, and other areas of co-operation."
