O Camel Ye Faithful! Christians hold peace rally in Karachi to mark Christmas season

"Pakistani Christians took to the streets of Karachi on Sunday to hold a peace rally in celebration of the Christmas season. Footage shows men dressed as Santa Claus riding camels, alongside children wearing Santa hats, parading through the southern city of Pakistan. "This Christmas peace rally is just to spread the message of love, peace, and care, as this is the month we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. He is the symbol of love," Vice President of Christian Aid Organizations in Pakistan, Saima Khan said. Christmas is a religious and cultural celebration observed annually on December 25 to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ according to the Gregorian calendar. Celebrations range from religious rituals, such as midnight mass, to social traditions like decorating and lighting Christmas trees, exchanging gifts, and preparing special dishes. Christmas is also associated with the figure of Santa Claus, who brings gifts to children. The holiday embodies values such as giving, sharing, and family reunion."
