LAHORE: The Punjab police have intensified operations against organised criminal groups across the province, including Lahore, arresting nine operatives belonging to four gangs during the past 24 hours. According to a Punjab police spokesperson, law enforcement agencies recovered 93 weapons from the suspects, including Kalashnikovs, pistols, rifles, revolvers and shotguns, along with hundreds of rounds of ammunition. The police also seized two vehicles, six motorcycles, 12 mobile phones, four head of cattle and cash amounting to Rs1 million. The spokesperson said that during encounters with criminal elements, one criminal was killed, while seven others were arrested in an injured condition. Copyright Business Recorder, 2025
