"A tragic bus accident occurred on Monday on the Semarang toll road in Central Java, Indonesia, killing 16 people and leaving many others injured. Footage shows the wreckage of the passenger bus as well as authorities speaking to relatives of crash victims at a local mortuary. Authorities have reportedly set up a victim identification post at Dr. Kariadi Hospital in Semarang to assist families in identifying their loved ones as the investigation continues. The incident took place at the intersection of the Krapyak toll exit in Semarang city. The bus, which was en route from Jakarta to Yogyakarta, was reportedly speeding when the driver lost control, crashing into a concrete road barrier before overturning. At the time of the accident, the bus was carrying 34 passengers. Rescue workers reported that the evacuation process was particularly challenging, as some victims were trapped inside the bus, with access hindered by broken glass. The rescue office confirmed that all victims have been successfully evacuated and transported to local hospitals. The Central Java Police Traffic Directorate and the Semarang City Police Traffic Unit are investigating the accident."
