'Mind your own business!' - Maduro tells Trump to focus on US affairs amid Venezuelan oil tanker seizures

"Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro urged US President Donald Trump to focus on American domestic issues amid the seizure of Venezuelan oil tankers. "He would do better within his country on economic and social issues; he would do better with the world if he focused on his country's issues. Each president should mind his own business," Maduro said on Monday during a speech delivered at La Expo Motores Productivos 2025, an industrial and economic fair organised by the government in Caracas.   Maduro said no president "can be thinking about how to govern other countries," referring to US measures against his administration, including an airspace blockade and the recent seizure of Venezuelan oil tankers. "Imagine if I wasted my time, instead of being president of Venezuela, thinking about interfering with other countries, looking for problems and trouble with other countries, wanting to govern the world. I would be doing it very badly," he said. Venezuelan leader also referred to Congress' intention to promote a law to protect against the assault of its vessels and to guarantee oil trade. "Surely tomorrow it will already be approved as a law of the Republic, a special law to enforce the global agreements that prohibit the assault of vessels, piracy, and all crimes against international trade," he said. This comes after President Trump announced a blockade of 'sanctioned oil tankers' entering or leaving the country, arguing that the government of Nicolas Maduro uses them to "finance drug trafficking, terrorism and human trafficking"."
