"Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that Israel has agreed with Cyprus and Greece to deepen cooperation in defence and security, speaking at a trilateral press conference in Jerusalem alongside Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. "We agreed today to deepen our security and defense cooperation," the Israeli PM stated. Israeli media reported that the three sides are exploring the creation of a joint rapid intervention force. Netanyahu also addressed the Abraham Accords, saying Israel remains committed to expanding the framework. “We affirmed our commitment to expanding the Abraham Accords to widening the circle of cooperation between Israel and the Arab world,” he said. Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides expressed strong support for US President Donald Trump’s plan aimed at ending the war in Gaza. Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said a 'new opportunity' for peace had emerged following Trump’s proposal, two years after the outbreak of the Gaza conflict. The leaders also discussed regional energy cooperation, including electricity interconnection projects. Among them is the Eastern Mediterranean Energy Corridor (EMEC), which would link Cyprus, Greece and Israel across the Mediterranean. The current ceasefire, which took effect on Friday, October 10, is part of a broader agreement between Hamas and Israel under the so-called '20-point Trump Plan'. The plan includes an immediate halt to the fighting, the release of all hostages, both living and deceased, and the flow of humanitarian aid."
