5 NPA rebels killed in clash with Army troops in Camarines Sur

SAN PABLO CITY — Five members of the New People’s Army (NPA) were killed in an encounter with government troops in Burabod village, Lagonoy town in Camarines Sur, the military reported on Tuesday, December 23. Maj. Frank Roldan, chief of the public affairs office of the Army’s 9th Infantry Division, told the Inquirer in a Viber message that the clash involved troops of the 83rd Infantry Battalion and armed rebels operating in the area.
