Genomic studies for diseases are overwhelmingly conducted in wealthy nations. Low and middle-income countries participate minimally. Cancer and rare diseases dominate research. Infectious diseases, a global priority, receive scant attention. Demographic representation also shows gaps, with adults forming the majority. More inclusive and geographically diverse research is urgently needed.
