Residents of the agricultural town of Samu, south of Hebron, were attacked by a number of masked settlers from the nearby Susya settlement. The home of the Daghameen family was stormed by the settlers, with several family members assaulted, local media reported. Three of the family members were transferred to a nearby medical centre for their wounds. Footage of the aftermath shows smashed windows and doors, with household items toppled over one another. Settlers also barged into the livestock pen, where a number of sheep were beaten and shot to death. The attack is the second time the family home has been subjected to settler violence. Surveillance footage shows the moment when settlers broke into the home after smashing the windows of a car parked outside. The Israelis were also seen battering the sheep with long objects, including some objects which appeared to be sharp. مستوطنون يهاجمون بلدة السموع جنوب الخليل ويقتلون عددا من رؤوس الماشية بعد اقتحامهم حظيرة بالبلدة pic.twitter.com/YB5MJBztWs — موقع عرب 48 (@arab48website) December 23, 2025 translate: Settlers attack the town of Samu south of Hebron and kill a number of livestock after storming a barn in the town. Similar attacks have been reported in several areas across the West Bank, as Israeli settlers, empowered by Israel's right-wing government, try to intimidate Palestinians into leaving their homes and farms. Settlers attempted to seize Palestinian-owned land in the towns of Aqraba and Khirbet Yanoun, south of Nablus, as they destroyed the area under the protection of Israeli forces. Thousands of attacks In another incident, settlers raided the towns of Beit Dajan and Beit Furik, located east of Nablus, with tractors, ravaging large sections of the land. There has been a surge in Israeli attacks against Palestinians over the past two years, with more than 1,000 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank killed by troops and settlers. The Colonisation and Wall Resistance Commission said that in November alone, there were around 2,144 attacks by Israeli forces and settlers against Palestinian civilians and their property, including 1,523 carried out by soldiers and 621 by settlers. In total, the commission in October estimated that around 40,000 Israeli violations were committed against Palestinians in the West Bank since the start of Israel's genocidal war on Gaza . The figure has likely increased since, as a result of a recent wave of attacks during the olive harvest season , in what rights organisations say are attempts at halting ordinary Palestinian life.
