"Several people were killed and injured in northern Syria's Aleppo on Monday evening, as clashes broke out between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and transitional government forces. Footage shows civilians evacuating with gunfire and explosions heard in the background, as well as injured were seen transported to the hospital. "We received 10 injured, including two already dead, seven mild injuries and one critical case that was transferred to intensive care," Abdul Qader Farah, Director of Al Razi hospital said. "The surrounding of Al Razi hospital and adjacent streets were shelled. All injured are civilians as well as two brothers in the civil defence." According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), at least four lost their lives and 23 sustained injuries. Meanwhile, local media blamed the incidents in Aleppo on 'the SDF's assaults', noting that the government's forces are working on evacuating and ensuring the safety of civilians in various areas that are experiencing attacks by the SDF. In a statement on X (formerly twitter), the SDF rebuffed these claims, saying: "The Syrian Democratic Forces categorically denied allegations by the Damascus government-affiliated security and military apparatus of targeting Aleppo neighbourhoods. The points in question were handed over to the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in accordance with the April 1 agreement." In December 2024, the HTS-led transitional government seized power in Syria. Afterwards, al-Sharaa was appointed interim president, pledging an inclusive government. Suwayda province demanded secession after violations had been reportedly perpetrated against civilians from Druze, Alawite, Christian, and other minorities. Meanwhile, the US-backed Syria's democratic forces has yet to incorporate into the 'new Syrian army' at the time of publication."
