PM for efforts to boost bilateral trade with UAE

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday highlighted the strong trade relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and called for efforts to further boost bilateral trade and investment, particularly in key sectors such as energy, minerals, information technology, railways, and aviation. The prime minister made these remarks during a meeting with UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, Salem Mohammed Salem Al Bawab Al Zaabi, who paid a courtesy visit to the prime minister. Sharif emphasised Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding ties with the UAE, stressing the need for increased cooperation and investment to support economic growth and stability in both nations. ‘Pak-UAE economic ties should be strengthened in line with modern global requirements’ He also expressed deep appreciation for the enduring friendship and mutual respect between the two countries, highlighting the UAE’s consistent support to Pakistan, especially during times of crisis through humanitarian aid and developmental projects. He extended his warm regards to the UAE leadership and expressed anticipation for an upcoming visit by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Pakistan. Copyright Business Recorder, 2025
