RAWALPINDI: Imran Khan’s sisters, along with senior party leaders and workers, staged a sit-in outside Adiala jail after they were barred from meeting with the former prime minister once again. This is the third time the concerned authorities have not allowed them to visit their jailed brother this month. Last Tuesday, after they were barred from meeting with Khan, they had staged a sit-in, but the police dispersed them using water cannons. Tuesday had been designated as the visitation day for Khan’s family and legal team. However, Khan sisters Aleema Khan, Dr Uzma Khan, Noreen Khan, PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, party secretary general Salman Akram Raja, PTI provincial president Junaid Akbar Khan, and workers staged a sit-in at Factory Naka near Adiala jail after they were stopped from moving forward through barricades placed on roads. On the occasion, Aleema Khan said that the Prime Minister and ministers have started talking about negotiations with the opposition. What they wanted to obtain from holding negotiations, she asked, adding that first they should tell us why they imposed a ban on our meetings. Copyright Business Recorder, 2025
