A Saudi bus driver saved six female teachers from certain death after their bus caught fire following a traffic accident that occurred early on Sunday in the Abu Ajram area of Dumat Al-Jandal governorate in the northern Al-Jouf region. The driver, Abdul Salam Al-Sharari, said that that he managed to break the rear window of the bus and pull the teachers away from the flames one by one. The accident occurred around 6:00 a.m. on the Sakaka-Tabarjal road, after the bus carrying the teachers collided with a truck. The impact caused the front of the bus to catch fire, trapping the teachers inside amidst thick smoke. Al-Sharari explained that he was driving directly behind the bus, while another driver was ahead of him, when he witnessed the collision and the outbreak of the fire. He immediately stopped his bus and rushed to the scene. Al-Sharari immediately began trying to evacuate the teachers by breaking the rear window of the bus, relying first on God, and then on another driver and several young men who were at the scene.
